PicMonkey - Photo Editing Made of Win

Obihai - Free phone!
via obihai.com OMG! This thing works like crazy! Free phone! With bells and whistles! Obihai makes a little doodad that sells for about $50 on Amazon, along with a smaller version that is a bit less. This doodad plugs into your router that comes from your cable modem (or whatever your broadband internet is). Then you plug a phone into it and go to their website and register. Then you go to...

via designtaxi.com I have never been in this space, but someone close to me has had to live with a person messed up like this. It changes your actual brain cells. Ten Lessons I wish I had been Taught by Gian-Carlo...
Check out this website I found at alumni.media.mit.edu This fellow is apparently a mathematics lecturer, or something like that. He gives ten pieces of advice that are supposedly about lecturing or working in the field of mathematics. But I found some very useful ideas in them that I can apply in my own fields. One question, though: what’s a Rotafest?

Forget the Standing Desk; You Just Need to Move...
via lifehacker.com Well, you know, I like to pick and choose the advice I take, depending on whether it strikes my fancy at the time. This one sounds good to me. I was mildly uncomfortable at the thought of having to redo my office space and make a standing desk. Like, in other words, it wasn’t going to happen.

Stunned again
So I went to Rainbow Co-op (large health food store, excuse me, communist anarchist co-op) yesterday and while I was there I remembered that I had found my receipt for an item I had returned. Long story, but basically I had returned something without a receipt and later found the receipt. When I first returned the item, I didn’t know you couldn’t return things without a receipt and so...

Absolutely stunning customer service
I asked a simple question and got back an answer that was stunning in its… um, ignorance? I had gone to a site called coloncleansingproducts.com to look into the matter of stuff hanging around in your large colon so long that it stuck to the walls and “decayed.” This is a common claim from the colonics people. I have had a colonoscopy and have seen the inside of my own colon,...

HiTask - free online task management
via secure.hitask.com I was wondering if there was a todo list that would pry me away from Remember the Milk, and this is the one. You can view your tasks every which way, set reminders, make it post stuff to Google Calendar, set subtasks, export the whole thing and so on. Did I mention it’s free? The only downside is that fiddling with your todo list is way too much fun.

I first really understood the media years ago, when I had the opportunity to be part of a TV documentary. After months of filming, it finally aired, and I saw the final (much edited) broadcast. When the Producer asked me what I thought, I told her that overall, it was very good, but couldn’t they have put just a little more information that might help patients? Her answer was of much value...

No. While there is some debate as to the dangers of HFCS, there has been little to no evidence showing High Maltose Corn Syrup to be a concern. It is largely suspected that High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) is a contributor to American obesity and perhaps diabetes and other blood sugar ailments, that does not neccesarily mean that High Maltose Corn Syrup (HMCS) is also to blame....
